The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On March 28, 2024, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The head of the foreign policy department of a friendly country conveyed greetings and wishes to the head of Turkmenistan from Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his best wishes to the top leadership of Iran, expressing confidence in the effectiveness of the upcoming negotiations with Turkmen colleagues during the current visit, which will contribute to the further development of traditionally friendly bilateral relations.As noted, today the political and diplomatic dialogue at the bilateral level and within international organizations is successfully developing, based on the traditions of respect and mutual understanding.

Iran is traditionally one of the most important partners with which our country maintains trade and economic ties, the head of state continued, emphasizing the role of the joint Turkmen-Iranian group on economic cooperation, whose activities are aimed at agreeing on specific measures to increase interaction in the electricity and transport sectors.

It was also emphasized that the humanitarian sphere is an integral component of the Turkmen-Iranian dialogue. Evidence of this is the mutual visits of delegations from the two countries, the holding of joint cultural events, in particular Culture Days, various exhibitions and other events.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, confirmed that friendly relations between fraternal states, based on the principle of good neighborliness, will continue to expand and strengthen in all areas of mutual interest.
