The President of Turkmenistan Attends the Flower-Laying Ceremony at the Independence Monument

Being solidary and united in their aspirations, the Turkmen people, whose life in the modern era is illumined by the creative inspiration, celebrated the glorious 32nd anniversary of the sacred independence of the Motherland in the year “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar” with a feeling of immense pride.

According to the established good tradition, the main festive events began with a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Independence Monument – a majestic architectural symbol that perpetuated in the memory of current and future generations a fateful historical event, gaining sovereignty by our Motherland. The ceremony was attended by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Independence Day is not just the main holiday of the national calendar. This is a milestone, approaching which the country sums up the glorious path of its sovereign development and outlines new plans. Our people adequately prepared for the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of independence, as evidenced by the achievements that marked the next stage in the formation of the Turkmen state – a step towards even higher and more significant goals for the sake of the prosperity of the Motherland.

In the Congratulatory Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the people of independent and neutral Turkmenistan it is noted that our great achievement has gained authority, honour and glory for the Motherland throughout the world. Thirty-two years ago, the state independence of Turkmenistan was recognised by the world community, and a solid foundation for today’s development and success was laid. In recent years, thanks to the enormous creative energy of the people, our Motherland has turned into a comprehensively developing state. The transformations carried out in a short period of time in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres have significantly increased the standard of living of citizens, augmented the power and creative potential of the country and strengthened its unshakable foundation.

From early morning, thousands of our compatriots and guests, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the festive events, gathered in the National Independence Park, at the majestic memorial complex. The solemn atmosphere was enhanced by Green Banners fluttering in the wind and bright bouquets of flowers.

The presidential car arrived at the festively decorated square in front of the Independence Monument. Everyone greeted the Head of Turkmenistan with great enthusiasm.

The President of the country walked along the carpet, by the sides of which defenders of the Motherland were lined up. Representatives of the younger generation had the State Flags of Turkmenistan in their hands.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov went to a place specially designated for him.

The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed. In a solemn atmosphere, the President of the country laid a wreath at the memorial plate installed in front of the entrance to the memorial complex, a manmade symbol of the grandiose achievements of the modern history of the Turkmen people. The gilded spire of the Independence Monument, shining in the rays of the dawn sun, shoots high into the blue sky, embodying the Motherland’s aspiration to a bright future.

Following the Head of Turkmenistan, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the security, defence and law-enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, hyakims of velayats and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, representatives of public organisations, venerable elders, heads of diplomatic missions, accredited to our country, and international organisations, students, numerous residents and guests of the capital city laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers.

At the end of the ceremony, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly said goodbye to its participants and left the venue.
